Biden’s border crisis is threatening American communities.
According to projections from border officials, there are currently 1,500 illegal immigrants escaping into the U.S. every day. That is a 50% increase from the estimated 1,000 per day last month.
The result? Crime and dangerous high speed pursuits, as smuggling operations leave Americans living in border communities terrified and frustrated.
Sandra Carroll, a longtime Texas resident: “We’ve had incidents in the last few years, but this is the worst I’ve ever seen it. Biden gets in and suddenly the floodgates open. We are scared. This is not the same thing…Every day you lose a little more compassion and patience…you are sick of the damage and of the government taking care of [illegal immigrants] and not their own citizens”
LaSalle County, Texas Constable Rene Maldonado: “It’s just been one [smuggler] after the other after the other. It’s not stopping.”
LaSalle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche: “It’s been pretty overwhelming, but we are doing everything we can. It’s nerve-racking knowing these smugglers will stop at nothing to get away at the cost of migrants’ lives.”
Manuel Sauceda, LaSalle County Deputy Constable: “The more [smuggling] pursuits, the higher potential for someone getting hurt.”
Chaney McCollum, a Texas resident: “I’ve never really been scared until now. I should not have to be put in a situation where I can’t leave my house. Normal people out here don’t lock their barns. Now, we do.”
Retired Homeland Security investigations officer Jerry Robinette: “I think like anything else, what concerns people along and near the southern border is if this is a sign of things to come. An abundance of smuggling makes it that much harder for law enforcement to figure out who’s coming here to work or to sell drugs or commit crimes. You can argue migrants are just passing through but when you’re home alone with kids, people think the worst and you just don’t know.”
The border crisis is not under control. Even Democrat representatives are rebuking Biden’s gaslighting to say so. Biden needs to take responsibility for the border crisis he created, visit the border, and finally help the communities he has abandoned since taking office.
