This week, Cobb County, Georgia was supposed to see a boom of business, but not so thanks to Joe Biden and the Democrats
Democrats lied about and smeared Georgia’s voter-supported, commonsense election integrity law. Biden “strongly” supported the MLB All-Star game leaving Georgia knowing full well that, in his words, “the people who need help the most” will “get hurt the most” by the boycott.
The cost of the Democrats’ boycott can be measured in hotel rooms cancelled, small business income lost, and workers’ hours cut. Biden may have forgotten about the thousands that fell victim to the Democrats’ lies, but Republicans have not:
Darrell Anderson, the owner of a limousine business in Atlanta: “I know firsthand how badly our community wanted the All-Star Game played here. The $100 million in revenue to this area was going to be the opportunity for all of us to recover some of the losses that we incurred during the pandemic. Now, not only is that revenue gone, we may lose even more because conventions that were planned for Atlanta are now up in the air thanks to this decision by the MLB.”
Tudy Rodney of Rodney’s Jamaican Soul Food: “We’re trying to build back from a pandemic that happened last year, and something like this is not good for business. Rodney’s will suffer.”
Alfredo Ortiz, Georgia business leader: “Your decision is punishing the very group you claim to be defending. Small businesses in Georgia are hurting and you pulled a multi-million dollar rug out from underneath them…Don’t let activist groups weaponize America’s pastime to push radical ideas that MLB fans don’t support.”
Andy Erbacher of AJ’s Famous Seafood & Poboys: “We’ve got ourselves through COVID…and we’re looking forward to going up, instead of going back down.
Todd Trainer, Georgia resident: “These decisions matter and it affects people at a real level.”
Democrat Cobb County Chairwoman Lisa Cupid: “We have a lot of people who will be impacted by this…Our economy here in Georgia and in Cobb County, it depends on travel and tourism, it depends on retail. And these certainly would have been uplifted should they have chosen to stay here. And recognizing that we’re in a pandemic, this would have given us a lift out of that.”
Alphonzo Cross, Parlor Cocktail Den owner: “Anytime thousands and hundreds of thousands of people swarm into the city that certainly, you know, trickles itself down into our tiny little neighborhood and we see the economic benefits of that.”
Democrat Georgia State Representative Mesha Mainor: “When you’re talking about people that can’t pay their mortgage, a lot of people were putting their homes up for short-term rentals…that’s $3,000 that they just didn’t have before.”
Black-owned businesses specifically took a “major hit” as nearly 30% of Atlanta’s businesses are Black-owned.
But these people didn’t matter to the Democrats. They prioritized their baseless smears over the well-being of the people of Georgia, all in an effort to pass their federal takeover of elections. Now, Democrats are running the same playbook in other states, but Americans see their tactics for what they truly are: partisan political stunts based on unfounded lies.
Democrats don’t care about the consequences of their lies.
