Biden & McAuliffe: Two peas in a swampy pod

Rapid Response

Today’s campaign event is a reminder that Joe Biden and Terry McAuliffe are two peas in a pod. They are both swampy career politicians with failed records who are now tripping over themselves to embrace the radical left as quickly as possible.

That’s bad news for Virginia. Take a look at the issue of crime.

Crime rates skyrocketed during McAuliffe’s time as governor according to the FBI’s crime data:

McAuliffe’s tenure was a preview of America’s crime crisis under Biden. As Democrat-run cities defund the police, violent crime rates have shot up. Under Biden, America’s cities are under siege.

  • In the Bronx: “There’s shootings everyday…why would we defund officers that come out here every day and risk their lives?”
  • In Chicago: “Gang members now outnumber the city’s police officers by 10 to 1.”
  • In Atlanta: "Rocked by rising crime...a 50% rise in violent assaults. "
  • In Oakland: The police chief says that “the reality is that we’re facing some significant challenges with crime...We need the resources.”

But even as the administration concedes violent crime is on the rise on Biden’s watch, Biden shamefully refuses to condemn Democrat-run cities endangering our communities. He bizarrely lashed out at a reporter for even asking him the question.

Failed swampy politicians with an agenda that only makes our communities less safe. Come November, Virginia will reject McAuliffe and send a message to Biden and the Democrats that their policies just aren’t working.
