Biden Promised To "END" Fossil Fuels

Rapid Response

Biden did, in fact, promise to “END” the fossil fuel industry — even if it’s news to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.

This morning, as she defended the Biden administration’s decision to delay a key natural gas project, Granholm told CNBC’s Joe Kernen she “did not hear [Biden] say” he would end fossil fuels during his campaign.

That’s exactly what he said. In 2019, Biden told a New Hampshire voter: “I want you to look in my eyes. I guarantee you — I guarantee you — we’re going to end fossil fuel.”

Those are Biden’s own words — not ours — and they’re only a fraction of Biden’s hostility toward American energy sources.

Biden has certainly made good on his promise — and Americans are paying for it. Since Biden took office, Americans have lost more than $3,730 paying higher energy costs. Nearly 20 million Americans have fallen behind on their utility bills, with low-income Americans the hardest hit. A third of Americans say they’ve been forced to cut back on, or even skip, necessary expenses to pay energy bills.

It’s all in the name of Biden’s “transition” to a Green New Deal-style economy — and if a Biden first term has been bad for Americans, a second Biden term would be catastrophic.
