Biden threatens seniors

Joe Biden not only knowingly lied about Republicans and Social Security during his State of Union, he proved himself a complete hypocrite. In fact, the thing Biden has falsely accused Republicans of doing – backing a plan to sunset all federal programs including Social Security – is exactly what he did while he was in the Senate.

What’s worse – Biden’s agenda directly threatens the financial security of seniors. Americans have lost over $9,300 on average paying for the increased cost of living since Biden took office, with the costs of basic necessities like food, energy, and housing skyrocketing.

How does that affect seniors?

• 1.5 million retirees have rejoined the labor market in part because of “rising costs.”
• About half of older Americans said they had to spend their emergency savings.
• Nearly one million seniors have fallen into poverty.
• Nearly half of seniors have reported visiting a food pantry or applying for food stamps.
• The increasing cost of groceries has impacted more than three quarters of older Americans.
• Skyrocketing gas prices have also caused many to cut back on regular outings and activities that keep seniors active and healthy.

And it’s not just current retirees, but Americans saving for retirement:

• 25% of Americans say they are delaying retirement because of inflation.
• Americans now have an average of $11,000 less in savings.
• Public pension funds lost billions of dollars in 2022.

So Biden is a liar, a hypocrite, and a threat to seniors’ financial security. And he thinks that’s something to brag about? Yikes.
