Biden vs. small businesses

Rapid Response

This week is Small Business Week, but unfortunately, small businesses have little to celebrate under Joe Biden.

Most small businesses are desperately struggling to keep up with Biden’s record inflation, supply chain crisis, and staffing shortages. Red-hot inflation is especially hitting mom-and-pop shops, with the majority forced to pass costs along to customers to keep afloat.

According to a new National Federation of Independent Business survey:

  • 99% of all surveyed small businesses reported that fuel and gas price increases were having a negative impact on their business.
  • 68% of those surveyed are planning to raise prices in the next three months.
  • 77% of small business owners reported higher supplies and material costs were contributing to higher prices.

Here’s what some of those business owners have to say:

  • A Florida chef says Biden’s rising prices are “absolutely crazy” and he is afraid that if he continues to raise his prices, he will go out of business.
  • Giovanni, in California, says “it’s challenging and it’s scary.”
  • Pat, a bar owner in Cincinnati, says it’s the “most challenging time we’ve ever been through.”
  • Lenny, the owner of a pizzeria in New York City, says prices have “skyrocketed” and “every day” they suffer shortages.

Small Business Week should be a celebration of small businesses, but instead, Biden has turned it into a reminder of just how bad he has made it for them.
