This afternoon, Joe Biden will give a “major speech” on his disastrous ”Bidenomics” economic agenda.

But Biden’s insistence his economic agenda is “working” is a tough sell to Americans who see its failure in virtually every aspect of their lives:

• INFLATION is back on the rise: Inflation surged to 3.7 percent year-over-year in August and remains more than twice the rate it was when Biden took office. All told, prices have gone up by 17.4 percent since Biden took office as households are spending $709 more per month than they did two years ago for the same goods and services.
   
• EARNINGS are down: Real wages have slumped by 3.1 percent under Biden as inflation outpaced wages for a majority of his presidency. Inflation-adjusted household income fell last year by the most in over a decade, while median household income has fallen for two straight years — and remains below pre-pandemic levels.
   
• GAS PRICES are still up: The nationwide average for regular gasoline is $3.85/gallon — a $1.46/gallon increase from the day Biden took office — as prices remain near high-water marks for 2023 in states across the country. Meanwhile, Biden has drained the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve down to just 18 days of supply — and refilling it will take decades.
   
• BILLS are mounting: Since Biden took office, Americans have lost over $2,250 paying higher energy costs. Nearly 20 million American households are behind on their utility bills. Credit card debt is at an all-time high, delinquencies have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, and Americans are being punished by the highest interest rates in 22 years. Americans’ savings, real incomes, and economic confidence are all down.

By every metric that matters, Americans are not better off — just ask them. 60 percent of workers report living paycheck-to-paycheck — including 73 percent of millennials — while nearly three-fourths of Americans say their financial situation is not improving and almost half say it’s actively “getting worse.” 70 percent of Americans say things are going BADLY in the country today, and most think the country is on the wrong track.

The most damning indictment of “Bidenomics” comes from the 76 percent of Americans who say Biden’s policies have either worsened the economic conditions of the country or made no difference.

“Bidenomics” has been an embarrassing failure in virtually every respect. Biden should keep talking about it.
