Biden's Bankrupt "Green" Promises

Today, Biden is in Detroit promising “green” jobs. Is history repeating itself? When it comes to Biden and the Democrats’ bankrupt “green” job promises, it sure is.

Even before Biden started lying about green jobs as president, Biden spent years as vice president promising green jobs that never materialized:

In 2009, Biden praised the Obama administration’s $535 million loan guarantee to Solyndra, promising “permanent” “green” jobs of the “future.”
- Two years later, Solyndra filed for bankruptcy.
In 2009, Biden touted the Obama administration's $528 million loan to electric carmaker Fisker Automotive, saying it was “seed money” that would lead to “good, new jobs.”
- The thousands of jobs promised never surfaced.
In 2011, Biden claimed the battery company Ener1 was “creating new jobs” in green industries that would “ensure our competitiveness for decades to come.”
- Just three years after receiving a $118 million grant from the Obama administration, Ener1 filed for bankruptcy.

And Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm has a similarly terrible track record. As governor, she granted tax credits to a convicted embezzler, gave millions to companies that went bankrupt, and promised jobs that never came.

Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, killing 11,000 jobs, many of them union jobs.
Biden rejoined the disastrous Paris Climate Agreement, which estimates say will kill anywhere from 400,000 to 2.7 million jobs.
Biden’s moratorium on new oil and gas leases on federal lands threatened an estimated 268,000 jobs.

What’s more likely to happen than a “green” job boom? The nationalization of California’s failures, where Democrats’ green jobs projections have fallen far short, blackouts loom, and gas prices are among the highest in the nation.

But that doesn’t matter to Biden. After all, he said he was willing to “sacrifice” hundreds of thousands of blue-collar jobs in pursuit of a Green New Deal. Promise made, promise kept.
