Deportations are at the lowest levels in ICE’s history and even The Washington Post is calling out DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for not telling the truth about it.
Claim: Mayorkas: “You know what happens to these individuals? They are either expelled under the Title 42 of the CDC, or they are placed into immigration enforcement proceedings. They make their claims under the law. If those claims don’t prevail, they are promptly removed from the United States.”
Facts: “The reality is much different…Indeed, more than 1 million people who entered the country without proper documents have been given deportation orders — and still have not left. Others have disappeared — a problem that may have gotten worse as tens of thousands of undocumented immigrants are released in the country each month.”
Indeed, tens of thousands of the illegal immigrants who have been released with a “notice to report” have gone missing. Almost 600,000 illegal immigrants have been released into the U.S. under Biden, with over 560,000 in just the last 12 months. Compounding the problem, Biden is releasing tens of thousands more every month, and now he plans to release more than 600,000 illegal immigrants from ICE custody by September.
Meanwhile, Biden has tied the hands of immigration law enforcement officers and has turned ICE into an “unofficial travel coordination agency.” In other words, Biden’s policy is to give millions of illegal immigrants crossing the border a free ticket into the U.S.
