Today Joe Biden will call on Congress to pass a “gas tax holiday,” a gimmick that will do virtually nothing for struggling Americans.

Even Democrats and the media have bashed the idea:
- Barack Obama, 2008: “For us to suggest 30 cents a day for three months is real relief, that that’s a real energy policy, means that we are not tackling the problem that has to be tackled. We are offering gimmicks.”
- Nancy Pelosi, 2022: “The pro is very showbiz. ‘OK, let’s just do something, there it is.’ But it is not necessarily landing in the pocket of the consumer.”
- CNN, 2022: It “would do nothing to fix the supply shock driving up prices...Secondly, it would push demand in the wrong direction.”
Meanwhile, Biden’s favorite economist, Moody’s Mark Zandi, says that Biden’s proposal would actually be a massive tax cut for oil companies.
As Obama said, “this isn’t an idea designed to get you through the summer. It’s an idea designed to get them through an election.”
The only solution is to end the War on American Energy, but Biden won’t do that.
Why? Because he wants you to feel pain.
