Biden's inflation dishonesty

After new Labor Department data showed consumer prices spiking by 7.9%, a 40 year high, Biden insisted it was “Putin’s price hike.”

That’s not true. As noted by CNN, the report shows inflation “accelerating” BEFORE Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. And let’s not forget, consumer prices have risen at or above 5% year-over-year for 10 months.

It’s the latest in a series of debunked excuses from the Biden administration. In reality, even liberal economists say Biden’s reckless agenda fueled inflation.

• Former Obama and Clinton economist Larry Summers: The “tremendous wall of money” that the Democrats “released last Spring” has led to inflation.
• Former Obama economist Jason Furman: Biden's spending is “too big ... don't know any economist” who supported that much.
• Former Obama economic advisor Steven Rattner: “It’s a classic economic case of ‘too much money chasing too few goods,’ resulting in both higher prices … The Biden administration needs to shift its approach … Mr. Biden has been disingenuous.”
• Biden's Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen: Biden's $1.9 trillion boondoggle was one of the “factors that are involved in inflation.”

From, “transitory,” to inflation is a “good sign,” to “corporate greed,” to inflation is “peaking,” to “Putin” … If Biden wants to find the culprit for the rapid inflation hitting Americans hard, he should look in the mirror. At this point, he’s not just lying to the American people, he’s also making a fool of himself.
