Joe Biden and the Democrats’ position is clear: They won’t stop spending taxpayer money until they force our country into fiscal ruin, and they are willing to risk default to do it.
Take a Republican proposal to save money by rolling back spending to December 2022 levels and limit increases going forward. Biden absurdly insists the sky is going to fall – but that was less than five months ago! In fact, Biden praised those same spending levels and Hakeem Jeffries called the spending “transformative.”

But now, staying at those same levels means the end of the world? Biden’s claims on the debt limit should be taken for the pure partisan spin that they are, especially since he still refuses to negotiate on a responsible debt limit increase.
And for all his spending, all Biden has truly accomplished is fueling inflation, decreasing real wages, depleting the savings of millions, and sending American debt levels skyrocketing. If you spend trillions of dollars and only make families poorer, it’s time to revisit your priorities.
