Biden's silence on defund the police

Joe Biden refuses to condemn Democrat-run cities defunding the police.

Just weeks ago, Oakland cut $18 million from its police department. Since then, there has been nothing but crickets from Biden in his long run of silence as Democrats defund the police.

Instead, Biden peddled baseless and easily debunked lies, all while empowering defund the police activists within his administration. What a crass political calculation: Instead of standing up to his own party, Biden is lying as crime surges across the nation.

But where Biden is failing, residents of Democrat-run cities are speaking out against Democrat efforts to defund their police departments:

• In the Bronx: “Why would we defund officers that come out here every day and risk their lives?"
• In San Francisco: “When you hear stores closing, when you hear stores making an economic decision to shut their doors early, what does that tell you about the situation in San Francisco?”
• In Oakland: “The reality is that we’re facing some significant challenges with crime...We need the resources.”
• In Chicago: "The police are afraid to act...it's making the job a lot more difficult for the police...nobody's backing them up."

Police are quitting at an astonishing rate, homicide rates are rising, and businesses are being forced to close. Americans deserve a president who will stand up to Democrat efforts to defund the police, not lie about it.
