How exactly does Biden expect his COVID “rapid testing program” to work?
Biden ran on having tests available for every American. But almost a year into his term, Americans saw a huge testing shortage over the holiday season, when many were forced to spend hours waiting in lines if they could find tests at all. In December, Biden promised tests would start going out in the “beginning of January.”
Instead, COVID tests now won’t start going out until “late January,” and if you have more than 4 people in your family, it looks like you are out of luck.
Not only that, the tests will take 7-12 days to just ship, longer than the entire CDC recommended isolation time for COVID. No word on how long the tests will take to get to Americans after they are shipped.
So how is this supposed to work? Is every American supposed to preemptively order a test? How does this program help someone who thinks they have COVID now? How does this shorten lines at pharmacies? Everyone only gets one test? If someone lives in a house with over 4 people, they have to ration?
Biden was told to order more tests months ago, and he refused. This testing program is too little, too late. Promise made, promise broken.
