Biden's solution to his border crisis: denial

Rapid Response

The Biden administration is still refusing to recognize the border crisis.

Today, Biden's Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed there is “not a crisis” at the border and yesterday DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisted the term “crisis” is “not applicable.”

This is what Biden does not consider a crisis:

  • A historic surge in illegal crossings, as according to his own DHS Secretary, “We are on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years.”
  • A record number of migrant children and teens in CBP facilities.
  • A 56% increase in the number of migrant children and teens in CBP facilities in just twelve days.
  • Growing concerns about a coronavirus outbreak in overcrowded facilities.
  • Non-uniform testing at the border and a concern that the large influx of people could contribute to the spread of the coronavirus in the United States.
  • A “boom time” for gang activity at the border.
  • Criminal organizations "using the messaging from the Biden administration and turning that to their advantage” to turn a profit.
  • Smugglers earning more than $400 million in February trafficking migrants across the border.

A historic number of illegal immigrants crossing the border, a record number of underaged migrants in CBP facilities, and an explosion in gang and cartel activity…all during a pandemic.

Biden’s denial will not make his crisis go away. It’s time for Biden to enter the real world, recognize the crisis, and reverse his terrible policies.
