Even former Obama officials are calling Biden’s border crisis “not sustainable … it overwhelms the communities in Texas [and] Arizona…it overwhelms the Border Patrol and ICE.”
It’s a warning that border-state mayors, including Democrats, have been shouting from the rooftops for over a year:
- Carrizo Springs, Texas Mayor Oscar Puente says they’re “not prepared” after Biden said illegal immigrants would be released into the city.
- Uvalde, Texas Mayor Don McLaughlin: “It’s ridiculous this administration puts illegal immigrants that cross our border illegally, they have greater rights than American citizens.”
- McLaughlin: “We’re not equipped to handle these people.”
- Gila Bend, Arizona Mayor Chris Riggs: “We do not have the resources to handle all these people being dropped in on us...we need help…I don’t really hear from any of the administration.”
- Democrat Laredo, Texas Mayor Pete Saenz: “Border Patrol is overwhelmed…they’re bussing migrants to our city....we can’t handle it here.”
- Saenz: “Biden ran on a virtual wall, or a smart wall containment. We haven’t seen those elements. It’s just getting worse. Does he want the border to exist?”
- Saenz: “We need to truly secure the border. It was working under Trump, call it whatever you want to call it, but it was working.”
- Lozano: “It’s a Biden border crisis.”
- Lozano: “We had illegals attempting to traverse the perimeter fence at one of the local schools...Can you imagine the trauma that they’re experiencing being on lockdown for illegal immigrants coming in and trying to get into their fence line?”
- Villalobos: COVID-positive illegal immigrants “get picked up and they’re going out and we have no authority to stop it.”
- Democrat Del Rio, Texas Mayor Bruno Lozano: The border is “wide open for unlawful entry,” but the Biden administration keeps telling me it’s “under control.”
- McAllen, Texas Mayor Javier Villalobos: “We cannot be doing a federal job.” Biden is showing “callous disregard” for the border crisis.
But Biden has ignored them. In fact, he’s made the problem even worse. Biden doesn’t care about Americans struggling under his border crisis. He won’t even visit the border.
