Conspiracy theorists are advising Biden's CDC

Rapid Response

Joe Biden’s CDC adopted language from a conspiracy theorist into their school reopening guidelines.

New reports show that in a Twitter DM exchange, union boss Randi Weingarten, who heads the same organization that influenced the CDC on their school reopening guidelines, cited Rebekah Jones’ debunked conspiracy theories to justify her months-long stance blocking school reopening.

When she was told that Florida has had schools open for longer than California or New York with no uptick in cases, Weingarten responded, “They have been hiding their cases…”

When asked for evidence behind her claim, Weingarten cited Rebekah Jones, saying she was fired because “she told the truth…she was transparent on Covid cases and she was fired. Then she continued privately and her computer was seized in a police raid.”

She later claimed that if Florida was telling the “truth,” Florida’s coronavirus cases “could be as bad” as California’s. You can read the whole reported exchange here.

When National Review reached out for comment, Weingarten DOUBLED DOWN: “Asked to comment on her exchange with Bravo, Weingarten told National Review that Jones’s claims were substantiated by internal emails.”

So much for Biden following the science. It turns out he was listening to conspiracy theorists. Meanwhile, millions of children did not make it back into the classroom full-time this school year, even though the science told us they safely could.
