Joe Biden himself said in 2005 that eliminating the filibuster would be an “arrogance of power” and a “fundamental power grab by the majority party.”
So for what purpose are Democrats willing to bring about, in their words, the “doomsday for democracy”? To force a law on the American people that would eliminate or threaten:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said it plainly enough this week. Eliminating the filibuster is about one thing: “mak[ing] it much harder to resist.”
