Democrats continue to squander economic recovery

Rapid Response

The October jobs report is out, and it offers little consolation to the more than four million Americans who lost their jobs during the pandemic and have yet to get them back.

American workers are getting their jobs back in spite of the policies of Biden and Democrats:

  • With more than ten million job openings – and businesses struggling to fill them – Biden’s policies have created a worker shortage at a time when many Americans are desperate to get back to work.
  • Just as many workers are getting back on their feet, Biden’s vaccine mandate threatens the livelihoods of millions of Americans, exacerbating Biden’s supply chain crisis and driving up costs.
    • As many as seven in ten unvaccinated workers would likely quit their job rather than comply with forced vaccination requirements.
  • Even as these jobs are threatened, Democrats are pushing a bloated, multi-trillion-dollar spending bill that includes massive tax cuts for wealthy blue state residents.
  • Now that Democrats are no longer championing a policy that pays Americans not to work, it’s unsurprising that more Americans are returning to the workforce.

Republican-led states are leading the economic recovery:

  • 17 of the top 20 states for recovering jobs from the pandemic are led by Republican governors.
  • The top 11 states with the lowest unemployment rates are all led by Republican governors, while the eight states with the highest unemployment rates are led by Democrats.

For two out of the past three months, the economy has added fewer jobs than expected. That’s an unacceptable result for an economy that should be roaring back.

Biden deserves no credit; it’s clear that jobs are coming back despite him—not because of him.
