Democrats on censorship: Fine by us

Rapid Response

The more Twitter Files that are released, the louder the alarm bells sound on Big Tech’s collusion with certain government officials to censor accurate information and unduly influence an election.

So far, though, the response from Democrats has largely been, ‘Censorship? Fine by us.’ Incoming House Democrat Vice Chair Ted Lieu claims it’s “irrelevant” if Twitter was suppressing speech and blocking stories of Biden family corruption. He downplayed reports and even defended censorship efforts as necessary and proper.

It’s ironic that Democrats would promote baseless conspiracy theories, but think censorship of important stories – such as Biden family corruption or questions on COVID’s origins – is perfectly fine.

One can’t help but wonder: If Democrats weren’t so used to Big Tech bias putting their thumbs on the scale favoring them, would they be so fine with censorship? We think not. The RNC has fought Big Tech bias every step of the way, and we’ll soon have a House Republican majority dedicated to accountability.
