Democrats Push "Freedom to Cheat"

The Democrats’ attack on election integrity continues.

Today, Chuck Schumer is bringing Democrats’ latest election bill up for a vote.  They are trying to rebrand their failed H.R.1 /S.1 election takeover as the “Freedom to Vote Act,” but in reality, it should be called the “Freedom to Cheat Act.”

A few lowlights…this bill would:

• Eviscerate the commonsense state voter ID laws which 35 states have passed.
• Force 37 states to adopt automatic voter registration on short notice.
  • Past attempts to implement automatic voter registration have led to illegal immigrants being registered and massive registration errors.
• Lead to “large numbers of ineligible voters” being registered, including non-citizens.
• Force states to let violent felons vote in federal elections as soon as they are out of prison – even if they have not completed all terms of their sentence, like probation or parole.
• It’s yet another unconstitutional mandate Democrats want to force on the American people.
• Strip individual states of the ability to draw their Congressional districts as they see fit, with the federal government instead imposing mandates for how districts are drawn.
• The bill includes nearly the same campaign funding scheme from H.R. 1, with taxpayers coughing up as much as a 600% match for political donations under $200.
• Gift your taxpayer dollars to the campaigns of career politicians you don’t support.

Bad news for Democrats: 78% of voters support voter ID provisions and 68% believe state legislatures, not the federal government, should decide voting rules and regulations for their state. That’s because Americans want it to be easier to vote and harder to cheat, and that’s just what the RNC is fighting for.
