Democrats put your safety last

Bowing to pressure from “defund the police” Democrats at the local level, more than 20 major cities reduced their police budgets.

The result: spikes in crime and communities that are left unsafe.

• In Minneapolis, residents are suing their city for “fail[ing] to keep residents safe amid a spike in crime.”

• In Atlanta, people are “moving because they feel unsafe.”
  • Grassroots movements are starting to “give police more resources” amid a car break-in surge, and suburban residents are pushing for “a separate police force as crime rages.”
• In Portland, the police department is “grappling with a surge in gang-related shootings amidst a staffing shortage and continued calls for defunding.”
• In Seattle, the city is seeing it’s highest homicide rate in 26 years, with increasing response times as a record number of officers leave the department.
• In New York, crime rates are “soaring.” In many neighborhoods, parents no longer let their children play outside.
• In San Francisco, burglaries have spiked 62% as residents desperately look “for protection,” and  “rampant shoplifting” shutters businesses.

Homicide rates are up 24% from the beginning of this year, amid a larger crime wave sweeping through our nation’s cities, aided and abetted by Democrat-run municipalities pushing to defund the police.

It’s no wonder the vast majority of Americans oppose defunding the police.

And yet, even with this surge in crime, the Democrat push to defund the police lives on. It’s clear – for Democrat politicians, it’s your safety last, far-left activists first.
