So the Democrats oppose requiring 60 votes in the Senate … unless it’s protecting Putin’s pipeline.

Seriously, you can’t make this up. The same week Biden delivers a factless, angry, dishonest rant in Georgia to announce his flip-flop on the filibuster, Democrats effectively filibustered sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Cruz's Nord Stream 2 sanctions bill won't advance, because it won't get 60 votes. But it did get a pretty solid majority of a Democratic-controlled Senate (unofficial count is 55 votes in favor) on a sanctions measure that the Biden administration vociferously opposed.

Reminder, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is a major economic and political win for Putin:
So Democrats think the 60-vote threshold is bad … unless they are protecting Putin and his cronies. Got it.
