Over the weekend, the mayor of El Paso – a Democrat – declared a state of emergency days before Title 42 expires.
According to the mayor, “we have hundreds and hundreds [of migrants] sleeping on the streets” as overcrowded facilities reach close to 5 times their capacity.

Instead of supporting El Paso, though, the Biden administration has pressured the mayor NOT to declare an emergency even with the crisis set to get exponentially worse as Title 42 ends. Further, agents say “we have no agents in the field” as thousands of “gotaways” enter the U.S. every day.
Bottom line: Biden created a humanitarian and national security crisis. After 21 months, the least he could do is recognize it.
