New data shows 189,922 illegal immigrants were encountered at the southern border in February — a 338 percent increase from the average February under President Trump and the highest February number in DHS history. It’s also the 36th straight month where encounters have been HIGHER than even the highest month of the Trump administration.
February’s number equals approximately 6,500 illegal aliens crossing the southern border every day, dwarfing the definition of a “crisis” — “that 1,000 [illegal crossings/day] overwhelms the system” — set by Obama DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson in 2019.
Since Biden took office, 9.2+ million illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border, including 1.8+ million known “gotaways” who escaped past Border Patrol and into the country.
Biden started his term by making good on his promise to dismantle border security and he could end the crisis today if he wanted.
He won’t, and innocent Americans are paying the price.
