Tomorrow, Virginians will head to the polls to choose their next governor.
Here are five reasons to oppose Terry McAuliffe:
1. McAuliffe won’t defend parents:
- McAuliffe said parents shouldn’t be “telling schools what they should teach.”
- McAuliffe has repeatedly smeared parents concerned about Critical Race Theory (CRT) in schools as “racist,” calling CRT a “right-wing conspiracy” and falsely claiming CRT is “not taught in Virginia.”
- As governor, McAuliffe vetoed legislation that would have ensured Virginia parents were notified if their kids were assigned sexually explicit material in school.
- McAuliffe has accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the far-left teachers unions that prioritize their own interests over those of Virginians.
2. McAuliffe would shrink Virginians’ paychecks:
- McAuliffe’s economic proposal would result in the biggest tax hike in Virginia history, costing families an additional $5,400 per year.
- McAuliffe wants to repeal Right to Work in Virginia, which would result in smaller paychecks, fewer jobs, and a higher cost of living.
- McAuliffe’s spending plans would increase Virginia’s budget by more than $8.3 billion.
- Despite claiming he supports a repeal, McAuliffe failed to end Virginia’s grocery tax as governor.
3. McAuliffe won’t keep your communities safe:
- As governor, McAuliffe oversaw a 43% increase in murders and put violent criminals first.
- McAuliffe has embraced the “defund the police” movement, even bragging about his endorsement by a far-left group that supports defunding police and abolishing prisons – and when he was confronted about it by a Virginia sheriff, McAuliffe went berserk.
- McAuliffe snubbed a meet-and-greet with law enforcement union representatives.
- As governor, McAuliffe unilaterally gave thousands of convicted felons, including convicted murderers and rapists, the ability to vote.
4. McAuliffe is a chronic liar, sanctimonious hypocrite, and blackface apologist:
- After initially calling on Democrat Ralph Northam to resign in disgrace over a racist yearbook photo, McAuliffe defended Northam wearing blackface just months later.
- McAuliffe berated an individual for not wearing a mask, then was seen unmasked days later, shaking hands and hugging people at a crowded indoor campaign event.
- McAuliffe has repeatedly lied about the number of Virginia children hospitalized from COVID, earning “Four Pinocchios” from The Washington Post’s fact checker.
- McAuliffe dismissed heinous allegations of sexual assault in a Loudoun County Public Schools bathroom as a “conspiracy theory,” while the district superintendent and its far-left school board attempted to cover it up.
- During this campaign, McAuliffe has repeated lie after lie after lie about his own record and the record of his opponent.
5. McAuliffe is a career politician with a failed record:
In sharp contrast, Republican Glenn Youngkin has a plan to cut taxes, protect families, and reinvigorate Virginia’s economy.
The choice is clear.
