Freed By Dems’ Cashless Bail, Now Arrested For Murder

Rapid Response

Democrat Kathy Hochul called concerns about rising crime a “conspiracy.” She struggled to understand why talking about crime is “important.”

Tell that to the family of Christina Yuna Lee, who was stabbed 40 times by her suspected killer, a homeless man who followed her into her apartment after being released from jail without bail. The suspected killer was arrested 7 times in less than a year before the attack.

Because of soft-on-crime prosecutors and the state’s bail “reform” law, people accused of attacking cops, mugging people with a weapon, and committing heinous hate crimes have all been released onto New York streets. Up to 40% of those released under this law were rearrested. The crimes are horrifying:

  • This month, a man allegedly killed his wife in front of their three children in Buffalo, New York, just days after he was released under the state’s cashless bail laws.
    • The man was released after facing five different charges, including assault and harassment.
  • This month, a homeless man was charged with murdering a union steamfitter in Brooklyn by stabbing and slashing him while on the subway.
  • The man was on the streets because he was freed without bail after a 2021 stabbing.
  • He was released without bail after previously being arrested for attacking a man with a screwdriver just a month before.
  • Ramos had previously been arrested for felony arson just days before the killing.
  • In January, a homeless man was arrested for shooting and killing a teen cashier at a Burger King in New York.
  • In October 2021, a man was charged with murdering a mother and daughter in their Yonkers apartment less than a week after being released without bail.

Cheri Beasley, John Fetterman, Mandela Barnes, Tim Ryan, and Raphael Warnock all support cashless bail. These are the policies Democrats want to implement nationwide. Voters won’t give them the chance.
