After more than 3 months of complete failure, Kamala Harris’ brief border drop-in is not enough.
She is still not listening to the Americans who need Biden to reverse course on the policies that created his deadly border crisis.
Here are only a few of the people Harris should be listening to:
- Border-town Sheriff Mark Dannels trying to protect his county amid Biden’s border crisis: “We're losing all of our resources…they’ve been diverted to other assignments...the message is that this border’s open for business and you can come across and if you get across there will be no consequences, that's the message we hear.”
- Chaney McCollum, a Texas border-county resident: “I’ve never really been scared until now…I should not have to be put in a situation where I can’t leave my house. Normal people out here don’t lock their barns. Now, we do.”
- Sandra Carroll, a longtime Cotulla-area resident: “This is the worst I’ve ever seen it…Biden gets in and suddenly the floodgates open. We are scared. This is not the same thing.”
- Border Patrol Agent Joel Freeland: “We are seeing that the cartels are exploiting our current influx of unaccompanied children as well as our influx of single adults and they're bringing hard drugs.”
- La Salle County, Texas Sheriff Anthony Zertuche on the high speed pursuits plaguing his community: “It’s been pretty overwhelming…It’s nerve-racking knowing these smugglers will stop at nothing to get away at the cost of migrants’ lives.”
- Border Patrol Agent Oscar Escamilla on the record number of unaccompanied minors arriving at the border: “I’m a father, I don’t want to see that. As a Border Patrol agent, I didn’t sign up for this.”
- Father of an overdose victim tied to Biden’s border crisis: “I wake up, most days, in a state of shock. I cannot believe that I’ve lost a child.”
- Russell Johnson, a New Mexico Rancher: “Only getting worse...homes being broken into, cattle theft, vehicles stolen…it’s coming to a home near you.”
The Americans struggling during Biden’s border crisis deserve action. They deserve an administration that cares about the consequences of their failed policies.
But once again, Biden and Harris are showing they couldn’t care less.
