They made it clear: Democrats are fine with Democrat politicians inciting violence and chaos.
This comes after Nancy Pelosi, the standard-bearer for House Democrats, openly embraced Waters’ dangerous rhetoric.
There is no good faith reading of Waters’ words other than encouraging violence and encouraging confrontation, at a time when law enforcement was working to keep communities safe. That’s the message every Democrat in the House has endorsed, and the message Pelosi has repeatedly defended.
We must constantly work to keep tragedies like George Floyd’s death from happening. Republicans have put forward police reforms that Democrats have filibustered – but the growing “defund the police” rhetoric in the Democrat Party does not make our communities safer. In fact, it endangers them.
