House GOP Showed Who They Are

In the words of Democrat Rashida Tlaib, House Republicans showed “who [they] all are” today by condemning antisemitism and socialism. Tlaib wasn’t making the point she thought she was making.

The contrast is clear.

House Republicans blocked Ilhan Omar, after years of her unapologetically making antisemitic remarks, from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. House Democrats “unanimously” endorsed her.

House Republicans condemned socialism and brutal and corrupt socialist dictators. Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries opposed the resolution, saying to condemn these dictators would “undermine” the House Democrats’ agenda.

With these votes, House Republicans indeed showed who they are, and so did House Democrats. It’s time House Democrats looked in the mirror.
