The Biden administration has broken promise after promise and told lie after lie on Afghanistan.
WATCH: CNN Reports: One Broken Promise After Another From Biden Amid His Failed Withdrawal

- Biden claimed “the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely.” Just over a month later, they have.
- Biden insisted “there’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of a embassy of the United States from Afghanistan.” Again, just over a month later, there was.
- In June, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated, “We are staying, the embassy is staying … I would not necessarily equate the departure of forces in July, August, or by early September with some immediate deterioration in the situation.”
- Less than 48 hours before the fall of Kabul, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said “There is no intention right now to close the embassy . . . The situation in Kabul is calm right now.”
- National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan astonishingly suggested the hurried evacuation of the embassy was run-of-the-mill.
- Biden told the American people the withdrawal would be orderly. Instead, the administration is rushing to evacuate Americans as we see stunning and horrific images of people at Kabul’s commercial airport desperately trying to leave the country.
- Biden claimed he would take “responsibility.” Now, his administration is shamefully attempting to deflect blame, even though Biden said the timeline and manner of the withdrawal was his decision.
Failure after failure. Lie after lie. Broken promise after broken promise. Amid the chaos, there may be one contrast that sums up the enormity of Biden’s failure – the Taliban held a press conference from the presidential palace in Kabul before President Biden held one from the White House.
