Yesterday, Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s “level of concern” on “a potential rise of antisemitism.”
She astonishingly responded by denying “any credible threats” exist, then pivoted to Islamophobia.

Jean-Pierre was immediately panned. Israel’s special envoy for combating antisemitism called the comments “unbelievable and unfathomable.” Ted Deutch of the American Jewish Committee said Jean-Pierre must “be better,” while Jonathan Greenblatt of the Anti-Defamation League said he had “no clue what the press secretary was trying to say.”
Her shocking dismissal — just weeks after the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust — comes amid an “outbreak” of antisemitism at home and abroad. In the United States, Jews are being maligned and assaulted on college campuses, intimidated, and harassed in their own homes. Meanwhile, their slaughter is being celebrated at pro-Hamas rallies across the country — including by some Democrat politicians.
She eventually was forced to walk her comments back, but the damage was done.
There are no “both sides” here; antisemitism must be forcefully condemned, on its own, every single time.
Karine Jean-Pierre should be ashamed of herself.
