Joe Biden doesn’t care about East Palestine, Ohio. That’s why it’s taken a year for him to bother to make the trip. Biden took weeks to even tweet about the toxic train derailment.

Biden's excuses for not going were downright absurd. He once claimed he hadn’t “had the occasion to go to East Palestine,” claiming “I just haven’t been able to break” shortly after he spent most of August on vacation.

It’s a message the people of East Palestine have received loud and clear from Biden, as community members put it: “I feel like I don’t matter;” “I believe that if we were in a blue area, he would have come;” “Where do you go when your community is repeatedly ignored by the president?"

Here’s the point: Real leaders show up. Joe Biden doesn’t. It’s too little, too late.
