Joe Biden: the snake oil salesman

Joe Biden and the Democrat Party are pushing lies on widely-supported commonsense voter integrity provisions.

His speech was just the latest in a misinformation campaign from Democrats on voter integrity. Here are just a few examples in recent months.

1. Joe Biden: “Among the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.” Wrong. Per The Washington Post: “Not a single expert we consulted who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, as this was the section of law that expanded early voting for many Georgians.”

2. Stacey Abrams: “No one has ever objected to having to prove who you are to vote.” While I welcome her change of heart, this is just not true. Among Georgia Democrats alone, both Raphael Warnock and Abrams have done just that.  Even Biden has falsely claimed that voter ID provisions suppress turnout.

3. Democratic National Committee: the Arizona ban on ballot harvesting will prevent voters from voting. Incorrect. When asked, the DNC failed to prove that a SINGLE voter would be prevented from voting by banning ballot harvesting.

Time after time, Democrats make bold claims on election integrity laws, but when asked to back up their smears they can’t because they are just not true. And Biden today was unable to name a single example.

The American people support voter integrity provisions, and oppose the Democrats’ federal takeover of elections.

• 78% of Americans support voter ID laws.
  • 65% of Georgians surveyed support requiring a driver’s license number to verify absentee ballots.
• By a 33 point margin, American voters believe that voting in their area is “easy” and want the main objective of any reforms to focus on making sure elections are “fair and free of voter fraud.”
• 68% of voters believe that state legislatures should decide the voting rules and regulations for their state, not the federal government.
• 78% of all voters said they totally supported a proposed voting plan with these five principles: 1. Presenting Voter ID, 2. Signature Verification, 3. Chain of Custody Controls, 4. Bipartisan Election Observers, 5. Cleaning up the Voter Rolls.

On voter integrity, Biden is way outside the mainstream. That’s why he’s resorted to pernicious, hyperbolic lies … the facts, and the opinion of the American people, don’t back him up.
