Last night, the House Homeland Security Committee voted to advance a resolution to impeach Mayorkas out of committee. The articles facing Mayorkas are on his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and his breach of public trust.
Since Joe Biden and Mayorkas took office, the border crisis has spiraled out of control. The latest numbers show that December saw the highest number of border crossings in a single month in our nation’s history.
The unprecedented number of illegal immigrants entering the country has crippled Democrat-run sanctuary cities like New York, Denver, and Chicago, and left them pleading with Biden and Mayorkas for help. It has also handed operational control of the border to the cartels, allowing them free reign to smuggle lethal drugs and heinous criminals into the country.
Again and again, Secretary Mayorkas has dishonestly claimed that the border is secure, even while under oath before Congress, while intentionally refusing to enforce the law. This blatant disregard for border security has both endangered and cost the lives of too many Americans.
Because of Biden and Mayorkas, we have a wide open southern border. They must be held accountable.
