After an election where Virginians rejected Democrats and their politics of division and hatred, newly inaugurated Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin is already making good on his promises to the commonwealth’s parents and students.

On his first day in office, Youngkin banned critical race theory, ended forced masking in schools, and ordered an investigation into a disturbing sexual assault case at Loudoun County Public Schools. Youngkin also committed to keeping schools open for in-person learning and promised to end the “soft bigotry of low expectations” for underperforming schools.
Naturally, anti-parent Democrats are seething. Far-left activist administrators and school boards are ignoring the governor’s order, while vindictive and inconsolable Democrat politicians lament their retreat from power.
But Democrats’ obsession with denying parents their rights doesn’t end in Virginia. In communities across the country, parents’ concerns are falling on deaf ears by leftist administrators bent on promoting their own political agendas. Meanwhile, Democrats keep telling parents to pound sand.
Republicans know parents should be in charge, kids should come first, and families deserve choice – and we’ll take that winning message to the midterms and beyond.
