Andrew Cuomo has finally resigned … Good riddance.
The allegations substantiated by the recent Attorney General’s report were deeply disturbing, and Cuomo’s refusal to resign until now is only a further indictment of his already tarnished character.
But New Yorkers still deserve answers, and his victims still deserve justice. Why has the Biden Justice Department refused to investigate Andrew Cuomo for his disastrous nursing home orders, his coverup, and his personal profiteering from the pandemic?
Reports confirm that New York “severely undercounted” nursing home deaths following his orders, and there is documented evidence that suggests a coverup. Biden praised Cuomo as “the gold standard” during the campaign, and once in office, Biden and his White House repeatedly ducked on holding him accountable. Now his DOJ is refusing to investigate Cuomo for his nursing home scandal.
This resignation should not be the end of the investigation into Cuomo’s conduct, both of his sexual harassment and his disastrous handling of the pandemic. But Biden is unable or unwilling to get New Yorkers the answers they deserve.
