Wow – that speech from Joe Biden was filled with dizzying spin and flat out lies on the deficit, inflation, and the economy (click the links for reality checks).
Ultimately, though, this speech was about the debt limit, and Biden repeated the same tried and debunked misleading scare tactics.
Republicans are arguing for – and Americans expect – a responsible debt limit increase. Biden used to agree. In fact, he praised negotiations on the debt limit — calling them essential because there can’t be a “my way or the highway” approach. He even voted against a clean increase at least 9 times.

Instead of bringing the country together to address our nation’s problems, he’s decided to lie, smear, and gaslight. To paraphrase Biden’s own words, his “my way or the highway” approach is the real threat to our financial security. His destructive, inflationary agenda has already proved that.
