One Week Later: D.C. Residents Feel Safer Because of President Trump

Just one week after President Trump signed an Executive Order declaring a Crime Emergency in the District of Columbia, D.C. residents are already feeling safer. 

91% of Washington D.C. residents say crime is a problem. Citizens have been advocating for the National Guard to combat the lawlessness but have received no help from Democrats. 
 


 

After years of Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies, Americans overwhelmingly prefer President Trump’s law and order approach to crime over Biden’s. 

President Trump is delivering on his promise to Make D.C. Safe Again, and D.C. residents are already seeing a difference: 

  • “The vibe was different. People feel safe again. Common sense prevails.”
  • “First time at Union Station this morning since Trump’s crime crackdown and there wasn’t a single crazy person screaming, vagrant or person doing drugs.”
  • "I enjoy having extra security. I think it's a good thing. You want to feel safe when you're out and about”

The data doesn't lie: carjackings are down 83%, robberies are down 46%, and violent crime is down 22%. 

Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, our Nation’s Capital is once again a place where residents feel secure and visitors feel welcome.
