There is “operational control” at the southern border, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified to Congress this week.
He’s lying.
After 28 straight months of the worst border crisis on record, Biden officials began touting a relative dip — which still dwarfed the Obama-era DHS chief’s definition of “crisis.” Yet, the 144,000+ encounters at the southern border in June was a staggering 186% increase from the average number of June encounters between 2017 and 2020.
And it’s only getting worse. In addition to overwhelming numbers of single adults, unaccompanied minors, and even individuals on the terror watchlist, the number of migrant families with children attempting to illegally cross the southern border has nearly tripled in the past two months.
Meanwhile, millions of illegal immigrants have been released into the United States with no way to track them.
The border is in chaos — and politicians who say otherwise are lying.
