This morning at the Pentagon,
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump commemorated the
24th anniversary of the horrific
9/11 terrorist attack, declaring today as Patriot Day. He ordered
all flags lowered to half-staff in honor of the
brave Americans who
stepped forward, the innocent
lives lost, and the
families forever changed.
The President also took a
moment to honor Charlie Kirk’s
life by announcing that he will be posthumously awarding him the
Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Charlie was beloved by so
many:
- President Donald
Trump: “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the
United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by
all, especially me…”
- First Lady Melania
Trump: “Charlie Kirk’s life should serve as a symbolic reminder
that compassionate awareness elevates family, love, and country.”
- Vice
President JD
Vance: “Charlie Kirk was a true friend. The kind of guy you could
say something to and know it would always stay with him…I've seen people
attack him for years for being wrong on this or that issue publicly, never
realizing that privately he was working to broaden the scope of acceptable
debate.”
- RNC Chairman
Joe
Gruters: “Charlie Kirk was a father, husband, and dedicated
patriot who spent his life defending conservative values and inspiring
young Americans.”
- Secretary of
State Marco
Rubio: “Charlie Kirk's commitment to America's future generations
and sense of patriotism will resonate for decades to come.”
- Secretary of
War Pete
Hegseth: “We lost an incredible American today…a dear friend of
mine, if you knew him you love him. His name is Charlie Kirk.”
- White House
Press Secretary Karoline
Leavitt: “Charlie positively changed the course of American
history, and his legacy will live on.”
Charlie Kirk was one of the
most consequential conservative leaders of our time. He inspired a generation
of young voters to turn to conservatism and embrace America’s founding ideals.
His legacy on the Republican Party is immense and will be felt for years to
come.
