President Trump’s number one
priority has been, and will always be, protecting the
American people from any potential
harm.
That is why he has consistently said
Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. He repeatedly made that pledge at least 40 times on the campaign
trail and more than a dozen times since taking office. President
Trump was even saying this as far back as
2011, clearly stating, “We
cannot allow this radical regime to acquire a nuclear weapon that they will
either use or hand off to terrorists."
Just last week, the head
of CENTCOM, General Erik Kurilla, testified that Iran is close to
obtaining a nuclear weapon. General Kurilla stated that if the Mullahs decide
to “sprint” to a nuclear weapon, the regime could produce up to 10 bombs in
just three weeks.
President Trump said he wants
to see peace and an
end to the violence in the Middle East. That’s why President
Trump continues to say that Iran would be foolish to not make
a deal.
In April, President Trump gave
Iran 60 days to make a deal. They failed to do this and are currently
seeing the consequences.
It’s simple: Iran, the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism, cannot have access to nuclear weapons. Allowing Iran to become a nuclear power would put American lives at risk.
