Today, President Trump sent letters to top pharmaceutical
manufacturers requiring them to take steps to decrease the prices of
prescription drugs in the United States to match the lowest price offered to
other developed countries.

The steps to decrease prices include:
- Call
on manufacturers to offer most-favored-nation prices to all Medicaid
patients.
- Requiring
manufacturers to establish that they will not offer other developed
countries better prices than the U.S. for new drugs.
- Provide
manufacturers with avenue for direct-to-patient sales at prices no
higher than the best available in developed countries.
- Leverage
trade policy to support manufacturers to raise prices globally
and reinvest funds directly into lowering prices for Americans.
This is an unacceptable burden
on hardworking American families that has to end. President Trump is taking
action to bring down prices and make prescription drugs more
affordable for all Americans.
