Ready, Set, Tax Hike!

Rapid Response

So far, three of Joe Biden’s cabinet nominees have refused to rule out tax hikes to pay for Joe Biden’s agenda.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Transportation Secretary nominee Pete Buttigieg, and Commerce Secretary nominee Gina Raimondo have conceded that tax hikes are likely necessary.  Raimondo and Buttigieg even expressed openness to raising taxes on the middle class, with Raimondo noting that they “need funds” to pay for Biden’s climate proposal.

Although Biden repeatedly pledged “to eliminate” the Trump tax cuts during the campaign, which gave middle class families a tax break of $1,260, he nevertheless insisted he would not raise taxes on the middle class.  As he seeks to spend trillions to destroy America’s fossil fuel industry, however, that promise is being exposed as yet another Biden campaign lie, and he hasn’t even been on the job for a week.
