House Republicans know parents have rights – that’s why they’ve proposed a Parents’ Bill of Rights:
- Parents have the right to know what their children are being taught.
- Parents have the right to be heard.
- Parents have the right to see the school budget and spending.
- Parents have the right to protect their child’s privacy.
- Parents have the right to keep their children safe.
Which one of those do Democrats disagree with?
Reminder: 19 of the top 20 states for getting kids back for in-person learning during the 2020-2021 school year were led by Republicans; 18 of the bottom 20 states were led by Democrats. We’re still seeing the devastating consequences of Democrat-sponsored lockdowns on children:
- More than 1 million K-12 students “never showed up” to school during the 2020-2021 school year.
- 72 percent of public schools reported an increase in missing students during the 2021-2022 school year compared to before the pandemic.
- 210,000 students are missing from New York and California schools – among the states with the most severe and longest lockdowns.
Republicans put parents and families first. When you put families first, children benefit.
