Thanks To President Trump, Pfizer to Cut Prescription Drug Prices by Up to 100%

Rapid Response

Under the leadership of President Trump, Pfizer announced that they will lower the price of their prescription medicines between 50-100%, new medicine will be sold at the lowest price available, and an investment of  $70 billion will be made to fund research and development in the U.S.

The agreement follows President Trump's Executive Order in May aimed at  lowering the cost of prescription drugs, which has the overwhelming support of the American people, inlcuding 61% of Democrats and 59% of Harris voters.

What the Pfizer deal means:

  • All state Medicaid programs will buy Pfizer drugs at the lowest price available around the world
  • Foreign countries will no longer be able to take advantage of American Pharmeceutical innovation — new Pfizer medicines must be sold here at those same low prices
  • Pfizer will bring back the extra revenue it earns abroad thanks to President Trump’s America First trade policies and use it to benefit American patients
  • Pfizer will sell medicines directly to Americans at major discounts

President Trump promised to lower the cost of prescription drugs and he is delivering. This new deal will save Americans millions of dollars and strengthen care for the vulnerable.
