New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been exalted by the left for his coronavirus response, but in reality, it has been a disaster.
A new report from New York’s Democrat Attorney General Letitia James found that under Cuomo, New York nursing home deaths have been “undercounted by as much as 50%.” This comes after his orders early in the pandemic contributed to thousands of coronavirus deaths in New York’s nursing homes.
In response, Cuomo astoundingly insisted the Democrat AG’s report is a “political attack,” said “who cares” where people died, and accused the family members of those who have died of just looking for someone to “blame.”

This report is from a Democrat AG. It is not a political attack. Family members deserve answers for his terrible orders and for New York’s drastic undercounting of nursing home deaths.

"Who cares [whether] 33 [percent], 28, died in a hospital, died in a nursing home. They died.”
It matters for public policy, given very valid questions about how nursing homes were handled. It just does.
And he knows that.
For months, Cuomo has been a shameless self-promoter – he even commissioned a coronavirus poster and wrote a book touting his leadership. But now that the curtain is being pulled back, the full damage of his coronavirus response is finally being realized.
