As if Biden’s baby formula crisis wasn’t bad enough, women are facing yet another product shortage: tampons.
Essential feminine products are in short supply, with women across the U.S. reporting empty shelves where tampons and pads should be. Biden’s tampon shortage has caused a “nightmare” for women everywhere, as “just because there is a shortage doesn’t mean your period is going to turn off that month.” Some women have even reportedly resorted to “using the insides of mattresses, cut-up dirty sheets and t-shirts, and cardboard” if they can’t find these products.
When women can find feminine products, they are confronted with higher prices. Bidenflation has pushed the price of tampons up nearly 10% and menstrual pads up over 8%. This is disproportionately hurting low-income women who already experience difficulties in affording period products.
While major U.S. retailers have recently acknowledged this shortage, the Biden administration has yet to do so. Instead, Biden looks the other way as his policies wage war on women.
