Over the weekend, CBS News reported that the Taliban is blocking multiple flights carrying American citizens from leaving Afghanistan.

Per a congressional source, “The Taliban is basically holding them hostage to get more out of the Americans.”

Reports indicate there could be as many as 19 American citizens on these flights. And what’s the Biden administration’s response? To once again argue semantics.
While the planes remain grounded, the Biden administration doesn’t seems to care that Americans are stranded, only if they are physically stranded on airplanes. Responding to questions on the situation, the administration insisted they are “not aware of anyone being held on planes of any hostage-like situation.”
That’s the most out-of-touch statement since Press Secretary Jen Psaki insisted it was “irresponsible” to say Americans are stranded.
Enough denial, enough arguing semantics. Americans are stranded because of Biden’s disastrous withdrawal. He is failing his most fundamental duty as president – to protect Americans.
