In Loudoun County, Virginia, unmasked students are being suspended for “noncompliance,” while dozens of students in Fairfax County have been suspended indefinitely – despite Governor Glenn Youngkin’s order giving parents the freedom to make their own decisions about masks.
It’s the same story at schools in Democrat-run jurisdictions across the country, where the voices of parents have fallen on deaf ears.
But not only is there scant evidence for the efficacy of forced masking, there is also a growing consensus that masks actually impede kids’ learning.
Forced masking “affects learning and development, particularly for our youngest learners” and “provides little discernible benefit,” exacerbating an already-dire learning crisis among youth.
Biden promised an end to masks, but the U.S. remains one of just seven Western countries that require children to wear masks in school.
After 18 months of Democrat hypocrisy, it’s time to follow the science.
